New York Marathon - Mark May's successful run.

MARK MAY SUCCESSFULLY RAN
THE NEW YORK MARATHON
and raised £140
for St. Joseph's Renovation Project.

Congratulations to Mark May who successfully ran the marathon at his best time out of 3 previous marathons he has run so far.

Mark is booked in for the PARIS Marathon in April 2011 and has his sights on the BOSTON run.

Francis and Sally say ..... How do we stop this young man?

On behalf of our UK Team, we convey our grateful thanks for sponsoring St. Joseph's Cathedral Renovation project which was done at very short notice where we did not have time to obtain sponsors but all the same, a good sum raised. Thank you and look forward to your support at the Paris Marathon.

NEW YORK MARATHON
About the Start

Here is the key information you need to know about the Start.

Wave Starts: In order to alleviate congestion at the start, along the course, and at the finish; reduce waiting time prior to the start; and enhance runners' overall race experience, there will be three wave starts. Instead of releasing close to 45,000 runners at the same time, each wave will release approximately 15,000 runners in 30-minute increments.

The Corral System: There will be seven corrals per color within each wave start. Runners will be organized into corrals according to the projected finish times that they provided on their marathon applications.

Start Villages

Runners assemble in their start villages in Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, on race morning. The start villages are outdoors and may be damp and cold, so warm, water-resistent clothing is recommended.

Runners will be organized into three start villages/zones -- blue, orange, and green. The base color on your race number indicates your start village assignment.

Only officially registered entrants and guides are allowed in Fort Wadsworth and the start area. You must have your race or guide number and chip visible to enter.

Wheelchair and handcycle athletes will be advised of the location of their staging area.
