Invitation - 'Help organise Fund Raising Events' - HOT UPDATE

HOT UPDATE
Good News from Tony Antao
Friday 29th October 2010

We have reached the $20,000.00 mark as of to-day with all the contributions/pledges from the supporters in England, Canada, USA, Denmark and Australia.

I never ever dreamed that this would be possible in just a short time (2 months) and we have barely touched the surface of this project. We have touched the hearts and minds of our supporters.

Let us continue to see how high we can go. The bishop and the Renovation Committee in Zanzibar need all the help they can get.

The first phase is about to be completed (front of the church and the two steeples) per Alice Salem(Moniz). I understand the cost of the first phase is $35,000 to $40,000.

The second phase is to complete the external repairs and brushing the external walls. And the 3rd phase is the internal repairs and painting (murals etc, etc).

Now we must get to the rest of the folks who have not contributed and the doubting "Thomas's" to ask them to help support the "fund raising".

Invitation

Dear SJCS Members and all Zanzibaris

The Global Organising Committee supporting
St. Joseph's Cathedral Renovation project
invite individuals and small teams to help
organise Events/Sponsorship.
We need to do our best to help raise funds in every possible way, and with the unlimited talent across the globe, we feel sure individuals can help organise Events.

Some of us can sponsor a walk, or run a few miles and get friends to back them.
Every US/Canadian $/£ counts.

We plan to promote individual/group events on this blog spot so please feel free to publish your Events & Sponsorships.

Money collected can be forwarded to any of the Global Team Committee Members closest to the area you live.
Names and emails can be viewed on the link below.

 FRESH FROM THE PRESS

UPDATE FROM TONY ANTAO

As of to-day, we have received pledges/donations of $16,580.26 from the supporters living in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. This really demonstrates the faith and love shown by our supporters who grew up in Zanzibar and have warm memories of this magnificent building. My target goal before November 30,2010 is $20,000.00.

Please solicit funds from the folks who still have not committed to this cause. And "thank you" for all your hard work for making this fund raising possible.
